It's time to visit your favourite city, because we're going to do some urban landscape photography! Architectural marvels, street views, metropolises and portraits of life in the city. It's all fitting for this contest, as long as the photo is captured from above. In particular, anything above ground level.
Photographing from an altitude allows you to give a nice extra touch to your photos. So, find a way to get high up in a building, climb a pole, or even use a drone to take your photo! Make sure it's clearly visible that the photo was taken from above by having the urban landscape show under an angle.
Long exposure is an allowed technique for this contest. It's often used in urban photos. The 'leading lines' technique from a previous contest is a handy technique as well. In this video from Tom Mackie, you can see an example from urban landscape photography that uses both techniques:
If you are new to urban photography, here you can find an excellent article from "Digital Photography School" with a multitude of handy tips and tricks.
Good luck!
PS: Try to vote on all entries in the contest. The more votes we get, the more accurate the rankings will be. Also, when you see something on someone's entry that can be improved, let them know. That way, we can learn new skills from each other!
PS 2: Ideas for future contests can be submitted here. The best ideas will be picked and turned into a contest. Make sure to clearly define the rules and objectives of the contest.
