Yes, that is true there is a look of acceptance by the homeless fellow. I also found it interesting that his hand is not out, he is not begging. Where was this shot?

I like the composition of this piece with people walking by, slightly blurred but the main subject sharp as a pin and looking directly at us (you). Good idea to change to monochrome for we would have gotten lost in the colour but here we just get punched in the gut by this post. Square format, hmmm, I would not have minded to see that fellow's head in the upper L hand corner (viewer's perspective). The song marries perfectly with the scene.

Thank you so much for this advice. I recently had an experience with png photo of a frog and it worked so beautifully.

Olga You don't have to join imgur to host an image if that's all you was to do on there, just choose the green box with a plus sign top left to add an image. Which opens a page to drag and drop your image. I choose the private option and copy the code to paste on here. I've had a lot of joy with pngwing.com for source material unlicensed often with background removed. The download low res is free which I find adequate for what we do. I also get more joy in google if I choose the subject I'm looking for lets say 'Sunset' but add wallpaper after it and I get less licensed images or watermarked. Always choose under the google images search bar the menu option 'SIZE' then 'LARGE' for higher resolution results. Nice entry hidden too :-)

Years ago on PXL I put up "dog meat" photo....much like this bird photo but it was dog. It was instantly taken down due to the fact that the dog is considered sacrosanct in the west and it was thought to be offensive....frankly speaking I love birds and consider them sacrosanct. Double standards even in the world of art.

Oh the song and photo mesh so well . The photo is technically very well done, nice tight crop and good detail shown, tonal quality makes the image sing. Vignette adds to the power of the image. Nice one and you were thinking out of the box!
Olga.L Olga.L posted this comment:
What a beautifully sad song, thank you , this is the first time I have heard it. The photograph could do with a tighter crop so that our focus lands on the family but with the inclusion of all those buildings it tells a story of place. The child in the pannier steals the show!

A heartwrenching image. Love it in monochrome. Could be a tad sharper but with the fuzziness, it gives a dreamy feel. Good song. Can you share a bit more about this shot you have my curiosity up.

Rather otherworldly piece with music to add to the high. Photographically I love your post, clear, sharp and it spooks me, which is a good thing. Love the stainless purple-hued tones and the way the light hits your subject.

Listening to Marie Osmond singing....did Patsy Cline sing this too? Your post is nicely done, clear, sharp tightly cropped on a dark background..it is a textural delight. This song does take me back...time travel through music. Thank you.

Listening while reviewing image. Love that old feel and your point of view from above. Although it is empty there is such a warm feel to your catch. I causes us to dream and the story is born.

GULP (SWALLOWING HARD)...you gave her 'geta' shoes and they are still worn in Japan...so you did a really good job. You re-did the bark of the tree....why, what was wrong with the original bark? Next photochop contest I'm going to work really hard to not create a mess....this I promise to myself.

Good question......where has the time gone! 😁

This had a very high emotive effect on me because I have a Japanese tea kettle, very similar to the one in your post and I am enraptured with Bonsai. I looked at your IMGUR but it showed the previous post and not this one.....so let me tell you how you did it....and you tell me if I'm right. (please forgive me but I am just learning). First you found that photo and used it as a main source and then added parsley as per your creative imagination....am I close? Thank you for this excellent post.
Olga.L Olga.L posted this comment:
Following the KISS principle, you have knocked this out of the ballpark! It is interesting (to me, a newbie) that you used the face and plant first and then added the parsley....I would have never thought to do that....you have taught me something and I thank you for this gorgeous post.

I get rather excited with every post on this side of grepless and your post is no exception. How you got the mangrove roots to mesh with the parsley, the tonal quality of this image and the story of the lost maiden. I have looked hard (for I am just a beginner) for telltale signs of margins tonal inequality and can't find a thing wrong. Really lovely work. Thank you.

What a great song and photograph too! Clear, crisp it lends itself to dreaming. This photo is pure and natural and is "pretty as a picture". It is so wonderful to listen to the music and study your post. Thank you. Many thumbs up.

So you translated this song for us and that was a lot of work ouch ouch ouch. It is hilarious and when I read that "in my pants, I put cactus" I broke out laughing. Here is a joke for you because your song reminded me : What is the difference between a Porsche and a cactus? With a cactus, the pricks are on the outside. With a Porsche the pricks are on the inside! aha ha ha ha ha ha ha🤣 😂😝 ********************************************************************************** Sorry, onto the photograph which is a textural delight to the eyes, I can feel this image as well as see it...clear and fill the frame full of subjet matter, good tight crop....photo is all sharp as a pin....errr, I mean sharp as a prick!...ouch.

WHY OH WHY have I not heard of this singer. Listen to his voice, it is crisp full of emotion, brilliant. I LOVE IT. It marries well with your post for your "country" shot is crisp, clean, sharp, real, not overcooked, nothing phony about it. Your composition, your crop all is perfect in my eyes and guess what.....I'm listening to the song a second time! Thank you very much, I would get high walking here, just high on life!

What a fabulous ballad that is and I was studying your photo as I listened and your photo came alive. You live in a beautiful country, a place I visited once where my husband ran the Sydney Marathon. We wanted to return alas.....The best part of your country is that is full of beautiful people, helpful, fun and kind....now to your photo. It looks very much like a painting for the rock is in softness but the colours feel very real. How serendipitous....you lucky photographer....you have not one but two rainbows. Thank you for your post and making me hunger to travel there......someday.

WOW what a photograph, it sparkles. The tonal range in your monochromatic post in cool hues is sublime, from black to white to much in between. I didn't know that was a Supertramp song....marries well with the photo. This image rocks on many levels, well balanced, contrasted, sharp as a pin, it is inspirational. Thank you for this delightful post and for putting up the link to the song....Na na na na na na na!

It is morning here in Vietnam and your post was the first one that caught my eye....I opened it, and listened to the song and can you believe it....I'M STILL GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR. How fortunate you are to have this magical wee "beastie" in your neighborhood, it is no bloody wonder Aussies are such happy people. From a photographic standpoint, your image is sublime with great detail on the bird and depth of field is soft putting all attention on the bird. Colours are realistic, natural, nothing is overcooked. Inclusion of the sign to remind us of "recreation zone" adds for it reinforces that life is just a joyful journey and it can be fun. This is a fabulous post for me which I am enjoying and I am about to listen to your song once more. Thank you so much.
