What an unusual entry and original...good eyes photographer. Tight crop makes us look up close and personal and wonder. Technical elements well done artistic rendition. Nice one!
i will have to try that one, thanks
did you use gaussian blur on this?
Selective colour is well done and the saturation and post-processing are spot on to bring us up close and personal with this Czech denizen! I would purchase this photo to hang on my wall in my recreation room, it is wall-worthy. Simply a gorgeous post.
Creative and eye-catching and a unique post. Love that vintage filter, the interior of Carroll's jewelry box is sharp and interesting to study. Thank you for thinking outside of the box!
Ahhh selective colour, very charming indeed. I like this for the compositional style, 'comin right at you' feeling. I do think a bit more room up top would have given this photograph more strength for we feel like they are going to do damage to their heads as soon as they hit a speed bump. Also...the person whose head is amputated at the very top right...you could clone him out...Staaan calls this "removing dead pixels". The image is wonderfully sharp and you have given room for this blue car to drive into...nice post and nice car.
Yes, and why naught to this creative ICM piece. It works to bring in the feeling of movement, very clever and good composition with more room for this Porsche to drive into. Not only do we see movement in the car we can feel the excitement coming through the lens of the photographer who is captivated by this car. Nice entry.
Like that desaturated feel to go with the old truck!
I love the whole story of your upload. The days when the youth of the time travelled in these VW vans listening to California Dreamin by the Mamas and Papas! Your story is well captured here. Photographically a most pleasing view with predominant colours of yellow and blue which are complimentary on the colour wheel...blue always looks great with yellow and you have captured this well. A great natural saturation with good dof and a very comfortable crop....giving us a lovely memory through photography....thank you.
Most would walk by this scene but it takes a photographer's eye to see this and I commend you on a job well done, a scene well seen! The diagonal slant helps to add a feeling of excitement to the patterns caught in the reflection of this BMW and your title rocks (titles do matter). The only constructive criticism I can offer, especially if you are going to put this piece up on the wall is to remove that pink pop of colour that is on the margin at the top right...it would make a cleaner presentation. When there is information like that on a margin line in photography what happens is that the viewer's eye goes there and we begin to complete the picture in our minds and very quickly we leave the photograph. You want to keep the viewer's eye in the photo for as long as possible. This is a most pleasing image with patterns on the hood of the car echoed by the patterns of cobblestones...great catch! Great post and I will now look at cars with added depth thanks to you.
This beautiful collector's item caught my eye because of that innocent look on "her" face...it is saying "who me?....what". An emotion was pulled out of me after viewing this Trabant. I then had to look it up and for educating me, I thank you very much. "Trabant became a symbol of the stagnant economy of former East Germany and the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in general." (wiki)
Now to the photographic aspect of the image. I really like the POV, instead of the usual 'belly button' point of view you give this car a bit of a noble feel by shooting upwards. Your depth of field is lovely with a soft blur in the background but sharp on those 'expressive eyes'. The tonal quality is also well done showing good detail in the shadow aspect. The crop is solid with breathing room all around and the saturation is not overcooked but natural to showcase the natural beauty of this little car. LOVE IT.
Thank you Eggs
