Photoshop Community Mascot

PhotoshopPosted by Staaan

As many may have noticed, we have our owner photoshop corner here on Grepless. A place where we can talk Photoshop and Photoshop only! Ironically, Adobe Illustrator or any other vector program could come in handy for making a mascot! This could be a good opportunity to learn more about vector graphics.

PS: this contest has been extended for 2 days! Remember guys, the mascot will be put in the navigation bar on top, so its colors should take that into account. I put the hex codes of those colors at the bottom of this post.

A dedicated mascot would make a welcome addition to the logo (which is only visible here, positioned between the logo and the word 'photoshop'). The winner of this contest will receive a $50 Amazon gift card!

An alien, animal, person, emoji, ... or anything creative that you can think of that would make a nice mascot for a community of digital artists.

The image you post here should be in JPG or PNG format, but ideally you also have an SVG that scales nicely. If you are not using vector graphics, make sure the resolution of your bitmap image is large enough, so our little mascot can be displayed properly on all devices.

The mascot should NOT contain any text or logos. This is just about the mascot itself.

Let's get creative and turn this community into a more personal, comfy space, with our own little mascot!

Here are some good tutorials to get you started:

Good luck!

PS: in previous contests, we noticed not everyone votes on all entries. If you can find the time, vote on all entries, not just the ones you like. The more votes we collect, the happier we can be with the results!

PS: These are the website color hex codes: #0a578d (website blue) #FFBB00 (website yellow) #257CDC (photoshop community color)

The Chopper created by Skyangel

Made from scratch in photoshop using vector shapes, stroked paths, and adjustment layers including pattern and texture overlays. The original rough sketch is .... https://i.imgur.com/wW39863.jpg I decided to replace the bucket with a brush for various reasons. A half finished version is... https://i.imgur.com/ET5mMh8.jpg. I also have a transparent PNG version of the file. I just entered the jpeg so the background would be included. This happy little chopper is heading out to do some chopping and painting.

You couldn't fool me, no way, no how. I see your thought process that went into this presentation, a chameleon (of course) changes his colours to suit the situation and we "choppers" at grepless photochop section do this with an artist's brush and artist's touch. Clever, very clever post.

Thanks much Olga, when I was in college, (a long time ago ) a professor told me to "Be like a chameleon." I never forgot that!

Oh how true, I suppose in order to function well in this world we do have to take on many colours.

To fit and blend in anywhere you are but still be an individual.

I had sketched out a chameleon to have it tattooed on my arm, have not done it yet, but it's on my bucket list.

Oh, I love great tattoos. Here in Vietnam, the guys look like YAKUZA with their detailed tats....they are wonderful.

Thanks, if I were to redesign this again, I'd flip the curled tail in the other direction so the chameleon looks like a lower case "g" as in the grepless logo.

Can't you just flip the file to achieve the lowercase 'g'.

My favourite, it covers so much in such a striking simple way. I have a weakness for being a colourist. Have you tested it against the blue header colour of the page.

I like the colorful eyes too but I like the brush version with the red paint on the brush.

That's neat, perhaps try making the brush in the site colors:

#0a578d (website blue)
#FFBB00 (website yellow)
#257CDC (photoshop community color)
