Another nice shot but think i would have preferred color in this one, still good though.
Tough work for sure. Looks like another back breaking job. It amazes me that so many people still carry such heavy loads on their backs when wheel barrows exist. Don't they use wheelbarrows in that country? One pumpkin is heavy enough for me to lift. I can't imagine lifing a whole bag full of them.
Would you mind sharing why you shot it in monochrome and what you were trying to convey or point out. I actually like it but what I like and what your trying to express might be two different things for this pic.
Thank you so much.
No problem. This image in colour is quite vibrant with a warm brown stone background, his skin almost a deep purple to brown and the pumpkins green colours and yellows and oranges. The burlap sack white. When you see it in colour the colours rob the man/photo of emotion...I did not want the viewer to be influenced by the colours, I was hoping for an emotive feel to come through and according to Skyangel's critique, I succeeded for she felt sorry for the man. It is the man and his struggle that was important to highlight. Thank you for asking and feel free to comment further.
Thank you so much for the info:)
Well thought out. I feel the same about the b&w version.
Great job:)
I really like this image. I think being in black and white makes it more dramatic. There is enough tonal contrast with the background which does not detract from the main subject. I like the stoical expression on the mans face. The detail on the sacks is pin sharp. Super shot!
