WOOD APPLE FRUIT
Limonia acidissima is native to India (including the Andaman Islands), Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The species has also been introduced to Indochina and Malesia. (source is wikipedia)
It has a citrus taste and the "smoothie" my friend used to make me was refreshing and filling. It also acts as a laxative if you ingest too much (but nobody will warn you of this). :-)
Nice complementary color scheme between fruit and wooden background. I've never eaten this fruit before.
It was a new fruit for me too. I've never seen this in Canada's supermarkets. Thank you for stopping by.
I have never seen this fruit in reality before. It looks like a bunch of bird seeds in a shell. I doubt I would even try it if I was never told it was edible. I would not even have realized it was a fruit if I came across the shell as a whole. I would have mistaken it for some kind of nut. I believe you regarding its taste but I am glad you warn people about its laxative effect. If I ever have the opportunity to taste one, I will remember not to eat too much.
The fruit doesn't look very appealing, but it's a clean photo, I also love the contrasts...
Not so sure about that border on the frame

I wonder why they refer to them as RASPberries. Is it because they resemble the rough edges of a rasp tool? Canon 80D
