OF COURSE blue and yellow the colours of today, the sad colours of today. Thank you for sharing this and standing with the Ukrainians. I am posting the English words to the Ukrainian National Anthem for your interest:
Ukraine has not yet perished, nor her glory, nor her freedom.
Upon us fellow Ukrainians, fate will smile once more.
Our enemies will vanish, like the dew in the sun.
And we too shall rule, brothers, in a free land of our own.
Souls and bodies we'll lay down, all for our freedom,
And we'll show that we brothers, are of the Cossack nation. (Repeat last 2 lines)
Nice rimes, but not nice to the dew. I would have written something like "Our enemies will vanish, like the poo with the flush"

Ukrainian National Anthem and story of Cross-stich blouse created by Olga.L
Story of Ukrainian Cross-stitch Blouse This is my motherβs blouse that she embroidered circa 1932 while living in Ozerna, Ukraine. When World War 2 broke out my parents fled the shelling, bombs and walked with soldiers to Germany where they spent years in a DP camp (displaced persons) where I was born. When mom left her hometown, she buried her blouse deep in the earth to protect it from harm. Time passed, mom and dad found refuge in Canada (Toronto). When I was a small girl, I remember mom receiving a parcel that contained her blouse. I remember her unwrapping it, holding it to her face, and sobbing. I grew up in the shadow of WW2, a child of refugees and today I watch scenes of war coming through the news reports, and I cry.
