With smart phones camera getting better by the year, perhaps even the digital camera may go the way of the film camera?
I do agree with a lot of what he said, but wish to add that photography is actually divided in two periods, "BD" & "AD", i.e. "Before Digital" & "After Digital". In the Before Digital world and you don't have a darkroom, (for 90% of photographers), you have to shoot images which you must know at the time you press the shutter button that it, (the images), would turn out at least 90% of the kind, quality you wanted. With a prime lens which is invariably faster and of higher quality glass you are more confident of getting the kind and quality of images you wanted or hoped for. In the period After Digital, where everyone has a "darkroom" with all those affordable and even free-of-charge post-processing software all images could be cropped, enhanced and manipulated, any "standard" zoom would do and, as he said, downright more convenient in terms of the size of your camera bag and therefore its weight. Other than that, I pretty much agree with the rest of what he said.
Washing vegetables as washing clothes would pollute the water.
