I presume she is a street busker trying to make money by entertaining bypassers? It is sad to see elderly people like that trying to make ends meet. It is definitely a moving scene but I think the focus is a bit off. A faster shutter speed will help reduce camera shake in future.
Thanks, Skyangel for your comment. I agree, watching her was very moving. It was like watching our homeless here in America. I appreciate your input on the focus. Yes...it was taken very quickly while I was on a busy road, years ago. Couldn't be helped. C'est la vie. I still wanted to share it. Thank you!!
These type of photos are difficult because the subject is emotive and if you try to focus or create a photo you could lose the moment,i think i would have set my shutterspeed before and took a shot then tryed for something different or angle after, but for us its easy to say that, i would also have given something for taking the photo, some people would walk by/ignore the person, thanks for sharing though,i sometimes think there but for the grace of god coud we be [not that i am religous though].
A telling photo. For my taste it is too soft - increase shutter speed or was it just focus that was not spot on. I sometimes take several shots in case the first one has the subject moving.
Just want to mention that this is a street shot. It doesn't have to be crisp. If it did it might look staged. Ask yourself, does this shot stir up something, is that what you wanted to convey, is that how others feel when they see it? At least 3 or 4 on this reply felt the shot.If it is then you've done your job as a photographer and are getting closer to becoming better at it. :)
