China will start destroying cash collected in areas with high exposure to the coronavirus

It's just paper, afterall

One day there will be totalitarian government-regulated e-currency and there will be no other way to trade. So, once the government figures out someone is not obedient, it will simply transfer ownership of one's e-money to gov. funds. And how is that different than dealing with the paper money? Well, they will know about each 'e-cent', and now they can only go after what they can actually find... But then, there also may be some dark blockchain currency developed too. Fits nicely in some SF movie script :)
